Celebration of Baptism (x6)
Sunday night saw Shiloh packed to (socially distanced) capacity as family and friends attended our Baptism Service to celebrate the baptism of six individuals who wanted to fulfil this simple act of obedience and declare publicly that Jesus Christ is their Lord and Saviour.
All six candidates (Susan, Linsey, Linda, Dean, Donny & Stevie) were keen to demonstrate their willingness to confess their belief that Jesus Christ is Lord and to declare they believe in their hearts that God the Father has raised Him from the dead.
Jimmy Anderson, a deacon of Shiloh, conducted the baptisms, while Tatty did the preaching.
The night truly was one of celebration.
Great praise sang out to the Lord, and a buzz of excitement filled the place, as it had been some time since there had been any baptisms or even an evening service.
Tatty told everyone it was a 'Funeral Service' they were attending because those getting baptised would be dying to their old way of life and be buried in the waters of baptism. He also said it was a celebration of life because the six candidates would rise up from the watery grave to new life in Jesus.
As token reminders of the event, gifts of new Bibles were given to the 'baptisees' and the celebration ended with light refreshments.
