Double Thanksgiving Service
This afternoon at Shiloh a double Thanksgiving Service was conducted by Mark Tatty Gordon.
The Thanksgiving Service (similar to a Christening but without the water sprinkling) was held to give thanks to God for Jessica Rea (daughter of Johnny and Danielle) and also for little Ellie Rea (daughter of Dean and Joanne).
The reading from the Bible was John 6v1-14 where Jesus feeds over 5,000 people.
The crux of the message was twofold:
1) When things seem impossible in life if we humbly and honestly call upon the name of the Lord he can provide a way
2) Nothing we offer or give to Jesus is wasted
Tatty explained that life can throw us hard times and bring us to a place where we feel there is no way out or no possibility of change; but if we trust in Jesus, he can provide a way.
He also said asking the Lord to accept our thanks for Jessica and Ellie was not a waste of time. Nothing we offer or give to the Lord is wasted and it certainly isn't a waste of time to ask the Lord to bless these children.
