Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II Kilcooley Tribute
This evening Mark Tatty Gordon was invited to conduct a service of tribute to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in Kilcooley.
His simple message said: -
"The Word of God says in Daniel 4v17: “That all who live may know that the Most High rules in the kingdom of men & gives it to whomever He wills, & He can raise up over it the lowliest, humblest of mortals.”
Her Majesty the Queen said, “Throughout my life, the message & teaching of Jesus Christ have been my guide & in them I find hope.”
Because of her faith & trust in the Lord Jesus, Her Majesty became the longest reigning monarch in British history, ruling for 70yrs + 214 days.
In Queen Elizabeth II, the Most High God raised up the lowliest, humblest of mortals & by His grace granted that she would ‘long reign over us’, as a dutiful faithful servant.
Today Her Majesty’s servanthood is rewarded, as her duty is done & she is now & forever with the Lord in whom she trusted.
We thank God for her reign.
May King Charles III follow in the footsteps of his Mother, our Sovereign Queen, & trust in the Lord, that he too may reign over us in righteousness, truth & humility.
After Tatty delivered his message, wreathes were laid on behalf of the community and individual's were invited to lay flowers in tribute; this was followed by those gathered observing one minute silence.
A lone piper played 'Amazing Grace'
Bringing the proceedings to a close, a prayer of thanks for Her Majesty's life & reign was followed by prayers for support & guidance for King Charles III & for the wider Royal family.
The ceremony ended with the words: "Queen Elizabeth II is dead! Long live the King!" to which the crowd responded, "Long live the King!"
