Kayden & Ruby Thanksgiving Service
This afternoon Shiloh was the venue for the Thanksgiving Service for two children, Kayden & his little sister Ruby.
Parents, Lauren & Patrick with their invited guests had come to give thanks to God for the two precious gifts He has loaned to them.
Mark Tatty Gordon welcomed everyone & explained what was going to happen & how it was a celebration of God's goodness demonstrated in the good & precious gifts of these two children.
After the first song, Tatty read from Matthew 19v13-15 & explained that the Lord valued children as much as He does adults & no adult should ever seek to hinder any child from wanting to know Jesus or wanting to come to Him. Tatty said, "Parents are accountable to God for how they love, care for & teach their children."
When he finished his simple message, Tatty then invited the parents to come forward with the children. He first gave thanks to God for His blessing to Patrick & Lauren before praying individually with the children.
After praying with Kayden & Ruby, Tatty presented their parents with a New Testament for each of the children.
The 'guardians' were then invited to come forward.
Jackie & TJ (standing for Kayden) & Jake & Megan (standing for Ruby) were told by Tatty that God will hold them to account for the promise they made today to ensure they'd do all they can (with God's help) to ensure Patrick & Lauren can raise their children in a home filled with love.
Having prayed with the guardians, the service concluded with a final song only after Tatty reminded everyone they were once children too & God's love for them has not diminished. He (God) wants them to know His love, which is why His Son Jesus, His precious Child, came into this world to die for us, to pay the price for our sins & enable those who believe in Him to know God as their Father.
