Thanksgiving for Drea Stitt
It was off to ‘the other side of town’, today to East Belfast’s Westbourne Glentoran’s Supporters Club to conduct a celebration of Thanksgiving for little Drea Stitt, daughter of Jade & Brendan.
Such a spread was laid on for the occasion for family & invited guests, in a beautifully decorated venue.
Mark Tatty Gordon opened the service by saying, God & His love knows no bounds & through prayer Tatty welcomed the Lord into the gathering.
Speaking from James 1v17, Tatty explained how Drea was a good & perfect gift from God, who reminds us by His gifts of children, that He hasn’t given up on mankind but continues to love us. Many people may give up on God, but in His love He pursues us. Little Drea is like the voice of God speaking to us to yield to His love.
Tatty then prayed with Drea’s parents (Brendan & Jade) asking God’s blessing on them. Afterward he prayed for Drea that the Lord would bless her life journey with love & compassion & that from an early age she would come to know Jesus as her Lord & Saviour.
The guardians (Frankie, Natasha, Michael & Colin) were then invited to come forward & Tatty reminded them of their commitment & how God expects them to fulfil their promises.
A final prayer of Thanksgiving was offered on behalf of all the family & invited guests & a New Testament was presented to remind Drea of this special occasion.
