Thanksgiving Service for Grayson McCabe
Little Grayson McCabe was the centre of attention this afternoon at Shiloh.
Brought to Shiloh by his parents Carly and Kyle and a host of other family and friends, the purpose of the visit was to give thanks to God.
Mark Tatty Gordon conducted the Service of Thanksgiving to celebrate God’s good and wonderful gift of little Grayson to his parents.
Tatty spoke about the life of King David of Israel who learned thankfulness to God from an early age. In one of his songs (Psalm 139) King David gave thanks to God for his life and for God’s provision throughout his life.
Tatty said it is God’s desire that everyone should learn to be thankful for His many blessings. The greatest of God’s blessings was Him sending His Son Jesus to die for us all that whoever might believe in Him shall be saved.
In his service Tatty prayed for God’s blessing on Grayson and his parents. He also made reference to God’s goodness in the earlier blessing of Grayson’s older brother Hudson.
The guardians (godparents) Marina and Jonathan were also asked to contribute to the service by coming forward for prayer.
Presenting the child’s parents with a New Testament for little Grayson, Tatty then concluded the service by inviting everyone to stand to sing the last of two hymns.
